But it’s not. We often do “deconstruction” on our projects. This means that we can save a lot of the materials from a project, that would normally go to the land fill, and then donate them to not-for-profit organizations that resell them. It provides a great tax deduction for the donating homeowner and, more importantly, keeps a lot of things from from ending up in the garbage. From this project we were able to donate cabinetry, appliances, lighting and plumbing fixtures, flooring, mouldings, and doors and windows.
